This project was commissioned to commemorate the life of Sammy Rosenberg, who attended the school and died in 2003. The themes within the mosaics integrate Sammy’s interests in the natural and scientific world into a complex courtyard design that can be seen from numerous vantage points within and outside the school building. The mosaics help open a narrow space to sky and trees. The project both honors Sammy and creates a lively learning environment for children at the school
